PPC
An ad model where the owner earns each time a visitor clicks an ad, used to monetize parked domains.
- glossary
PPC (pay-per-click) is an advertising model in which an ad network pays the publisher a small fee every time a visitor clicks one of the displayed ads. For domain investors, PPC is the primary mechanism behind domain parking: a parking service syndicates relevant keyword ads onto the parked page and splits the click revenue with the domain owner. Earnings scale directly with type-in-traffic volume and the commercial value of the keyword — a domain like loans.com will earn far more per click than a random combination of words. A well-placed ad unit on the domain landing page can generate meaningful passive returns on a portfolio while the underlying assets appreciate.
